The present study focuses on the visible, that is, on analyzing errors that students make to identify possible causes. The framework proposed by the APOE (Action, Process, Object, and Schema) theory is applied through the definition of 27 variables based on mathematical elements involved in three tasks that conform a questionnaire on the concept of derivative. [...]

This is a paper framed within the anthropological theory of the didactic that addresses the relationship between the results of didactic research on the school study of a certain domain of mathematics and the teaching problem of what to teach and how to do it in relation to that domain. [...]

We prove absolute continuity of the law of the solution, evaluated at fixed points in time and space, to a parabolic dissipative stochastic PDE on L2(G), where G is an open bounded domain in ℝd with smooth boundary. [...]

Department of Mathematics and Statistics) ; Nualart, David (University of Kansas. Department of Mathematics) ; Quer i Sardanyons, Lluís (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques) ; Zheng, Guangqu (The University of Edinburg. School of Mathematics)
In this article, we study the hyperbolic Anderson model driven by a space-time colored Gaussian homogeneous noise with spatial dimension d= 1 , 2. Under mild assumptions, we provide Lp-estimates of the iterated Malliavin derivative of the solution in terms of the fundamental solution of the wave solution. [...]

Department of Mathematics and Statistics) ; Quer i Sardanyons, Lluís (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques) ; Song, Jian (Shandong University. School of Mathematics)
In this article, we consider the Parabolic Anderson Model with constant initial condition, driven by a space-time homogeneous Gaussian noise, with general covariance function in time and spatial spectral measure satisfying Dalang's condition. [...]

Capacitive response at long time scales seems to remain an elusive feature in the analysis of the electrical properties of perovskite-based solar cells. It belongs to one of the critical anomalous effects that arises from the characteristic phenomenology of this type of emerging photovoltaic devices. [...]

Department of Mathematics and Statistics (Canada)) ; Quer i Sardanyons, Lluís (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques) ; Song, Jian (Shandong University. School of Mathematics (China))
In this article, we consider the stochastic wave equation on R × R, driven by a linear multiplicative space-time homogeneous Gaussian noise whose temporal and spatial covariance structures are given by locally integrable functions γ (in time) and f (in space), which are the Fourier transforms of tempered measures ν on R, respectively µ on R. Laboratoire de Mathématiques d'Orsay) ; Haller-Dintelmann, Robert (Technische Universität Darmstadt. Fachbereich Mathematik) ; Tolksdorf, Patrick (Technische Universität Darmstadt. Fachbereich Mathematik)
On a domain Ω ⊆ _ Rd we consider second-order elliptic systems in divergence-form with bounded complex coefficients, realized via a sesquilinear form with domain H1/0 (Ω) ⊆ V ⊆ H1 (Ω). Under very mild assumptions on Ω and V we show that the solution to the Kato Square Root Problem for such systems can be deduced from a regularity result for the fractional powers of the negative Laplacian in the same geometric setting.
