El treball constata que en els primers plantejaments teòrics (Smith i Marx) i en les anàlisis, sense recerca d'arxiu, de les historiografies liberal i marxista el desenvolupament i creixement de l'economia urbana (comerç i manufactures) va ser clau en la transició. El artículo analiza las diferentes visiones historiográficas sobre la transición del feudalismo al capitalismo y los debates de la segunda mitad del XX. El trabajo constata que en los primeros planteamientos teóricos (Smith y Marx) y en los análisis, sin investigación de archivo, de las historiografías liberal y marxista el desarrollo y crecimiento de la economía urbana (comercio y manufacturas) fue clave en la transición. The article analyzes the different visions of the historiographies on the transition from the Feudalism to the Capitalism and the debates of the second half of the XXth. The work shows that in the first theoretical thesis (Smith and Marx) and in the historical analyses, without research of archives, of the Liberal and Marxist historiographies the development and growth of the urban economy (trade and manufactures) was the key in the transition.
