In this work, the microencapsulated phase change materials, Sn/amorphous-carbon (Sn/a-C), and SnBi/amorphous carbon (SnBi/a-C) microparticles (MPs) were successfully synthesized. The thermal stabilities of Sn/a-C and SnBi/a-C core-shell MPs were verified by cycling tests, and stable latent heats of 56 and 45. [...]

A new gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) based supercapacitor with an ionic conductivity up to 0. 32-0. 94 mS cm has been synthesized from a mixture of an ionic liquid (IL) with nanocellulose (NC). The new NC-ionogel was prepared by combining the IL 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dimethyl phosphate (EMIMP) with carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibers (CNFc) at different ratios (CNFc ratio from 1 to 4). Hydrogen, generated from water splitting, is postulated as one of the most promising alternatives to fossil fuels. In this context, direct hydrogen generation by electrolysis and fixation to graphene oxide in an aqueous suspension could overcome storage and distribution problems of gaseous hydrogen. [...]

Hybrid metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) demonstrate great promise as ideal electrode materials for energy-related applications. Herein, a well-organized interleaved composite of graphene-like nanosheets embedded with MnO₂ nanoparticles (MnO₂@C-NS) using a manganese-based MOF and employed as a promising anode material for Li-ion hybrid capacitor (LIHC) is engineered. We report on the preparation of polymeric thin films doped with six dihydroazulene derivatives whose photochromic properties were previously screened in organic solution studies. Spectroscopic investigations into the photochromic behavior of the polymeric matrices have given important insights on the stability and the photophysical properties of the photoswitches impregnated into polymers.

Here, we describe selected work on the development and study of nanofluids based on graphene and reduced graphene oxide both in aqueous and organic electrolytes. A thorough study of thermal properties of graphene in amide organic solvents (N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) showed a substantial increase of thermal conductivity and specific heat upon graphene integration in those solvents. Development of cost-effective oxygen evolution catalysts is of capital importance for the deployment of large-scale energy-storage systems based on metal-air batteries and reversible fuel cells. In this direction, a wide range of materials have been explored, especially under more favorable alkaline conditions, and several metal chalcogenides have particularly demonstrated excellent performances.
