Background/Objective Autism has been investigated through traditional emotion recognition paradigms, merely investigating accuracy, thereby constraining how potential differences across autistic and control individuals may be observed, identified, and described. [...]

/
Zamora, Pablo (Universidad de Murcia) ;
[...] Swear words and expressions occur in social interaction and mostly perform an offensive function. In film, they convey emotional strength to dialogue and typify characters linguistically. In addition, they act as orality markers that contribute to creating natural and plausible audiovisual speech - and make it closer to spontaneous spoken language. [...]

Francoprovençal : a spatial analysis of 'partitive articles' and potential correlates in Swiss and Italian varieties

In this paper, we focus on partitive articles (PAs), i. e. , determiners which, generally, have an indefinite interpretation, and on one of their potential correlates, i. e. , invariable de, in Francoprovençal, a non-standardized, highly endangered Gallo-Romance language (cf. [...]

Background: Novel theoretical models of depression have recently emerged based on an influential new perspective in neuroscience known as predictive processing. In these models, depression may be understood as an imbalance of predictive signals in the brain; more specifically, a dominance of predictions leading to a relative insensitivity to prediction error. Una inscripción cristiana de Peñaflor (Sevilla)

A new inscription found at Peñaflor (ancient Celti) provides valuable evidence for the epigraphic habit in Late Antiquity in the area of the Vega del Guadalquivir north of the river to the east of Seville; it also provides proof of the use of the expression servus dei, rarely found in the early Christian epigraphy of the Iberian Peninsula.

[...] In this article, with the data of the Argentinean versions of The Catcher in the Rye (El cazador oculto), as they contrast with the corresponding versions in Castilian Spanish (El guardián entre el centeno), one can confirm the well-known distinction of the two varieties of the [Spanish] language, Argentinean and Penisular (B1 and A1 according to Veiga 2014) in the different use of the verbal (pretérito) tenses canté / he cantado, and, more precisely, one can say that the Argentinean B1 variety prefers the use of canté in all types of past events, versus the use of canté / he cantado in the A1 variety. We address the problem of estimating pure qubit states with nonideal (noisy) measurements in the multiple-copy scenario, where the data consist of a number N of identically prepared qubits. We show that the average fidelity of the estimates can increase significantly if the estimation protocol allows for inconclusive answers, or abstentions. [...]

We present a novel approach for the optical manipulation of neutral atoms in annular light structures produced by the phenomenon of conical refraction occurring in biaxial optical crystals. For a beam focused to a plane behind the crystal, the focal plane exhibits two concentric bright rings enclosing a ring of null intensity called the Poggendorff ring. [...]
