Let T be a sublinear operator such that (Tf)*(t) ≤ h(t,∥f∥ 1 ) for some positive function h(t, s) and every function / such that ∥f∥ ∞ ≤ 1. Then, we show that T can be extended continuously from a logarithmic type space into a weighted weak Lorentz space. [...]

We develop an abstract extrapolation theory for the real interpolation method that covers and improves the most recent versions of the celebrated theorems of Yano and Zygmund. As a consequence of our method, we give new endpoint estimates of the embedding Sobolev theorem for an arbitrary domain Ω.

We introduce the concept of Gaussian integral isoperimetric transfer and show how it can be applied to obtain a new class of sharp Sobolev-Poincaré inequalities with constants independent of the dimension. [...]

Biologicals undergo modifications throughout their commercial lifecycle. Major changes can unintentionally magnify their inherent physicochemical variability. Although trials comparing the pre- and the post-change versions have been requested occasionally, analytical comparison is the most sensitive approach to anticipating clinical equivalence. [...]

We extend Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem for functions valued in UMD Banach function spaces, leading to short proofs of some new and known results. In particular we prove Littlewood-Paley-Rubio de Francia-type estimates and boundedness of variational Carleson operators for Banach function spaces with UMD concavifications.

Institute of Statistics) ; Colwell, Robert K. (University of Connecticut. Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology)
In the context of capture-recapture studies, Chao (1987) derived an inequality among capture frequency counts to obtain a lower bound for the size of a population based on individuals' capture/non-capture records for multiple capture occasions. [...]

In this paper we present an empirical study on the Graphical and Algebraic interpola-tion/extrapolation with students of High School of Social Sciences. We prove that, if the problem of the interpolation/extrapolation of a function is addressed with specific instructions and the appropria¬te graphical templates, the graphical interpolation and extrapolation are easier for students than the algebraic, obtaining a positive meaningful difference in the academic results with the graphic method. We obtain sharp weighted Lp estimates in the Rubio de Francia extrapolation theorem in terms of the Ap characteristic constant of the weight. Precisely, if for a given 1 < r < [infinity] the norm of a sublinear operator on Lr(w) is bounded by a function of the Ar characteristic constant of the weight w, then for p > r it is bounded on Lp(v) by the same increasing function of the Ap characteristic constant of v, and for p < r it is bounded on Lp(v) by the same increasing function of the r-1/p-1 power of the Ap characteristic constant of v. Given a sublinear operator T satisfying that ‖Tf‖Lp(ν) ≤ Cp−1‖f‖Lp(μ), for every 1 < p ≤ p0, with C independent of f and p, it has been recently proved that T : LlogL → M(φ), where M(φ) is the maximal Lorentz space with φ(t) = t(1 + log + t)−1. [...]
