Paisatge i explotació forestal durant el I mil·lenni a.n.e. a la plana empordanesa
/
[...] This paper evaluates the practices used in the exploitation of the forest during the first millennium BC on the Empordan plain and their relation to the economic strategies. During this period the Empordà underwenta profound social and economic transformation that would doubtless have had consequences for the en vironment and, at the same time, for the relationship between the human population and this environment.

Forests are key components of European multifunctional landscapes and supply numerous forest ecosystem services (FES) fundamental to human well-being. The sustainable provision of FES has the potential to provide responses to major societal challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, or rural development. [...]

The possibility of using bioenergy as a climate change mitigation measure has sparked a discussion of whether and how bioenergy production contributes to sustainable development. We undertook a systematic review of the scientific literature to illuminate this relationship and found a limited scientific basis for policymaking. [...]

/
Mira i Pou, Núria ;
Badia i Perpinyà, Anna (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
[...] The relations between landscape and heritage are historical. Nevertheless, in the past heritages were those that had features of landscapes, whether they were landscapes constructed by political power in a given period, or were vernacular, that is, constructed gradually by communities.
