Este artículo intenta mostrar las principales dificultades metodológicas encontradas a la hora de investigar las fuentes hemerográficas sobre las competiciones deportivas de niños y niñas informadas con anterioridad al franquismo (anteriores por tanto a 1939), y que podemos sintetizar en una polisemia del concepto de deporte escolar, una dispersión de categorías de competición, y una variada casuística de límites de edades; encontramos asimismo una acusada invisibilidad de la presencia de las niñas frente a la de los niños. This paper is trying to show the main methodological difficulties we have met when researching hemerographical sources on sporting contests by children prior to Spanish Francoism (before 1939), and that we can resume in a polysemy for the concept of school sport, a dispersion for contest categories, and an assorted casuistry for agegrouping; we also found a great invisibility of girls attendance when compared with that of boys. In April 2009 two specimens of a terrestrial flatworm were collected from under a rock in an orchard at Ciutadella de Menorca on the easternmost Balearic island of Menorca (Spain).
