Análisis Iconográfico de la Portada del Templo Nuestra Señora de Loreto, en Molango, Hidalgo / Moreno Vidal, Carmen Fabiola
La portada del templo de Nuestra Señora de Loreto, es de estilo plateresco ya que presenta elementos del románico, del arte gótico como el rosetón y del mudéjar como el alfiz. Pero lo más sobresaliente y que comprende lo sustantivo de este trabajo es la utilización, de forma un tanto velada, de elementos, figuras y símbolos prehispánicos distribuidos por toda la portada a manera de decoración, desde las basas de columnas y jambas, con glifos del maíz, estrellas y agave, pasando por fustes con plantas de calabaza, los capiteles con representaciones del cielo mexica, llegando a la cruz, elemento común en forma y significado a ambas culturas y rematando en el rosetón, elemento que representa el cosmos cuyo significado cósmico se halla reforzado con los símbolos prehispánicos del movimiento de los astros como el Ōlin y Nahui-Ōlin.
The façade of the temple of Nuestra Señora de Loreto belongs to the Plateresque style as it presents elements of Romanesque, Gothic art such as the rose window and Mudejar such as the alfiz. But the most outstanding thing that includes the substance of this work is the use, in a somewhat veiled way, of pre-Hispanic elements, figures and symbols distributed throughout the cover as decoration, from the bases of columns and jambs, with glyphs of the corn, stars and agave, passing through shafts with pumpkin plants, the capitals with representations of the Mexica sky, reaching the cross, an element common in form and meaning to both cultures and ending in the rose window, an element that represents the cosmos whose cosmic meaning it is reinforced with the preHispanic symbols of the movement of the stars such as the Ōlin and Nahui-Ōlin.
