elphbolt is a modern Fortran (2018 standard) code for efficiently solving the coupled electron-phonon Boltzmann transport equations from first principles. Using results from density functional and density functional perturbation theory as inputs, it can calculate the effect of the non-equilibrium phonons on the electronic transport (phonon drag) and non-equilibrium electrons on the phononic transport (electron drag) in a fully self-consistent manner and obeying the constraints mandated by thermodynamics. The non-Hermitian nature of confined photonic modes is described by the electric complex modal volume, VE, which represents a key parameter that leads to counterintuitive effects, such as negative modal contribution to the local density of states and non-Lorentzian lineshapes. [...]

Departament of Mathematics) ; Oliveira, Regilene (Universidade de São Paulo. Departamento de Matemática) ; Torregrosa, Joan (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
In the weak 16th Hilbert problem, the Poincaré-Pontryagin-Melnikov function, M(h), is used for obtaining isolated periodic orbits bifurcating from centers up to a first-order analysis. This problem becomes more difficult when a family of centers is considered. [...]

ABINIT is probably the first electronic-structure package to have been released under an open-source license about 20 years ago. It implements density functional theory, density-functional perturbation theory (DFPT), many-body perturbation theory (GW approximation and Bethe-Salpeter equation), and more specific or advanced formalisms, such as dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) and the "temperature-dependent effective potential" approach for anharmonic effects. 46 p, 1.1 MB Canards Existence in Memristor's Circuits / Ginoux, Jean-Marc (Université de Toulon(France). Laboratoire LSIS) ; Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
The aim of this work is to propose an alternative method for determining the condition of existence of "canard solutions" for three and four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with only one fast variable in the folded saddle case. [...]

In a previous paper we have proposed a new method for proving the existence of "canard solutions" for three and four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with only one fast variable. The aim of this work is to extend this method to the case of four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with two slow and two fast variables. [...]

9 p, 570.0 KB On the periodic orbit bifurcating from a Hopf bifurcation in systems with two slow and one fast variables / García, Isaac (Universitat de Lleida. Departament de Matemàtica) ; Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques) ; Maza, Susanna (Universitat de Lleida. Departament de Matemàtica)
The Hopf bifurcation in slow-fast systems with two slow variables and one fast variable has been studied recently, mainly from a numerical point of view. Our goal is to provide an analytic proof of the existence of the zero Hopf bifurcation exhibited for such systems, and to characterize the stability or instability of the periodic orbit which borns in such zero Hopf bifurcation. Department of Mathematics and Informatics) ; Valls, Clàudia 1973- (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. Departamento de Matemática)
We study analytically the periodic solutions of a Hamiltonian in R^6 given by the kinetic energy plus a galactic potential, using averaging theory of first order. The model perturbs a harmonic oscillator, and has been extensively used in order to describe local motion in galaxies near an equilibrium point.

28 p, 1.1 MB Condition measures and properties of the central trajectory of a linear program / Nunez, Manuel A. (Chapman University (Orange, Estats Units d'Amèrica). School of Business and Economics) ; Freund, Robert M. (Sloan School of Management)
Given a data instance d = (A, b, c) of a linear program, we show that certain properties of solutions along the central trajectory of the linear program are inherently related to the condition number C(d) of the data instance d = (A, b, c), where C(d) is a scale-invariant reciprocal of a closely-related measure (rho)(d) called the "distance to ill-posedness".
