Seminal oxidative stress (OS) is one of the most promising factors to describe the causes of idiopathic male infertility. Redox balance is essential in several biological processes related to fertility, so alterations such as high reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels or low antioxidant agent levels can compromise it. 7 p, 385.5 KB Redox properties of structural Fe in ferruginous smectite. A discussion of the standard potential and its environmental implications / Favre, Fabienne (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Laboratory of Soil Science. LPE-ISTE-ENAC) ; Stucki, Joseph W. (University of Illinois. Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences) ; Boivin, Pascal (Université J. Fourier. IRD. Laboratoire d'Étude des Transferts en Hydrologie et Environnement LTHE)
The aim of this study was to compare the redox properties of oxides and smectite structural Fe (Fes). Structural Fe in smectite often accounts for about half of the Fe pool in soils and sediments, and is naturally reduced by indigenous bacteria. [...]

20 p, 569.1 KB Complexity analysis of the analytic center cutting plane method that uses multiple cuts / Ye, Yinyu
We analyze the complexity of the analytic center cutting plane or column generation algorithm for solving general convex problems defined by a separation oracle. The oracle is called at the analytic center of a polytope, which contains a solution set and is given by the intersection of the linear inequalities previously generated from the oracle. [...]

13 p, 551.2 KB On the worst case complexity of potential reduction algorithms for linear programming / Bertsimas, Dimitris ; Xiaodong, Luo
There are several classes of interior point algorithms that solve linear programming problems in O(V~nL) iterations. Among them, several potential reduction algorithms combine both theoretical (O(V~nL) iterations) and practical efficiency as they allow the flexibility of line searches in the potential function, and thus can lead to practical implementations. 48 p, 1.8 MB Long-step strategies in interior-point primal-dual methods / Nesterov, Yu.
In this paper we analyze from a unique point of view the behavior of path-following and primal-dual potential reduction methods on nonlinear conic problems. We demonstrate that most interior-point methods with O(V~n ln(1/(Epsilon))) efficiency estimate can be considered as different strategies of minimizing a convex primal-dual potential function in an extended primal-dual space.
