Definitions and measures of asthma control used in clinical trials and practice often vary, as highlighted in the manuscript, "Is asthma control more than just an absence of symptoms? An expert consensus statement". [...]

Online consumption and inequality in Spain : are new forms of fragmentation emerging?
/
Barbeta Viñas, Marc (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.) ;
[...] Digital consumption, particularly on consumer platforms, has seen major growth in recent years and has transformed consumer markets. However, little sociological research has been conducted that provides insight into how this process is unfolding. [...]

Mountains are social-ecological systems exposed to multiple climatic and socioeconomic drivers. The Pyrenees are a clear example of the concomitant challenges that these regions face, as they are exposed to stressors linked to depopulation, an economic shift towards tourism, and climate change. Natural history studies in neuromuscular disorders are vital to understand the disease evolution and to find sensitive outcome measures. We performed a longitudinal assessment of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy (P MRS) outcome measures and evaluated their relationship with function in lower limb skeletal muscle of dysferlinopathy patients. The current study evaluates the clinical effect of sirolimus exposure on the occurrence of cytomegalovirus (CMV)DNAemia necessitating preemptive antiviral therapy. A total of 167 consecutive recipients of reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC)allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT)who received sirolimus- and tacrolimus-based graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)prophylaxis and whose CMV serostatus was positive for donors and/or recipients were included in this multicenter retrospective study. Bacillus toyonensis strain BCT-7112T (NCIMB 14858T) has been widely used as an additive in animal nutrition for more than 30 years without reports of adverse toxigenic effects. However, this strain is resistant to chloramphenicol and tetracycline and it is generally considered inadvisable to introduce into the food chain resistance determinants capable of being transferred to other bacterial strains, thereby adding to the pool of such determinants in the gastro-enteric systems of livestock species. Microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs) have been extensively proposed as ideal tools for point-of-care (POC) testing with minimal user training and technical requirements. However, most μPADs use dried bioreagents, which complicate production, reduce device reproducibility and stability, and require transport and storage under temperature and humidity-controlled conditions.
