Second-order economic voting in elections to the European Parliament
/
Bosch, Agustí (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)
When examining citizens' behaviour in elections to the European Parliament (EP), second order elections (SOE) and economic voting (EV) have overlooked each other as alien traditions. However, they should not be seen as incompatible: voters may use EP elections to support national incumbents but, at the same time, this support may be the result of an economic assessment. [...] In this article, we study the hyperbolic Anderson model driven by a space-time colored Gaussian homogeneous noise with spatial dimension d= 1 , 2. Under mild assumptions, we provide Lp-estimates of the iterated Malliavin derivative of the solution in terms of the fundamental solution of the wave solution. [...]

Beliefs about other people's opinions on climate change influence one's own opinion. Such beliefs can, however, suffer from biases in perception. Using two nationally representative surveys, we examine this issue in a new context, namely of carbon-tax acceptance in Spain. [...]

[...] Timothy Williamson argues that philosophy is a theoretical science that deals with researching reality and obtaining knowledge, and that it does so by constructing theories and confronting them with evidence, in a systematic, disciplined and socially organised way, like the other sciences. We provide sufficient conditions for the existence and stability properties of periodic solutions of the second-order non-autonomous differential equation of the Nathanson's model ẍ+x+aẋ−[Formula presented]=0,and of the Comb-drive model ẍ+x+aẋ−[Formula presented]=0,where x∈R, a, b, v, δ are positive parameters and v(ωt) is a 2π∕ω-periodic function.
