Este artículo trata sobre la representación de la India en los murales de la Exposición Internacional del Golden Gate (1939-1940) de San Francisco y sobre los códigos y ejemplos utilizó su autor, Miguel Covarrubias, para presentar al público norteamericano masivo - que en general presentó poco interés por la India -, los pueblos, el arte, las viviendas y transportes, la flora y la fauna y la economía del subcontinente Indio.
This paper deals with the representation of India in the murals at San Francisco's Golden Gate International Exposition (1939-1940) and the codes and examples used by the author Miguel Covarrubias to show the massive North American audience - generally, poorly interested in India - the people, the Art, the native dwellings and means of transportations, the flora and the fauna and the economy of the Indian subcontinent.

Este artículo trata de posibilidades, conveniencias y dificultades del movimiento de aproximación entre los estudios de retórica y de comunicación periodística. Contribuciones de Van Dijk, Teruel-Planas y otros investigadores del ámbito iberoamericano y catalán ayudan a comprender el carácter esencialmente retórico de muchos de los procedimientos básicos del periodismo dicho informativo y de ciertas cuestiones todavía cruciales en las discusiones sobre periodismo que vienen, en verdad, desde los sofistas.
This paper is focused on the possibilities, conveniences and difficulty of the approaching movement between the studies of the rhetoric and the communication in journalism. Contributions by Van Dijk, Teruel-Planas and other Iberoamerican and Catalan researchers help to understand the essentially rhetorical nature of many basic procedures of the media said informative and of some crucial issues on the debates about journalism, which exist, in fact, since the sophists.

Este artículo analiza conceptualmente las tesis doctorales de educación matemática defendidas en la universidad española durante el periodo 1975-2002, utilizando las categorías temáticas establecidas en la revista alemana Zentralblatt für Didaktik der Mathematik [ZDM] (véase Fachinformations Zentrum Karlruhe, 2004); a su vez, se indaga longitudinalmente cuál ha sido la evolución de tal producción a lo largo de ese periodo estableciendo un balance de la investigación realizada y contenida en las tesis.
