This groundbreaking study sheds new light on the unequal distribution of cultural ecosystem services (CES) within Rome's urban green spaces (UGS). Employing a novel methodology, we assess UGS quality through georeferenced social media data from Twitter, evaluate the green cover of UGS, and assess accessibility to these spaces using network analysis in a GIS environment. Car-dependent city planning has resulted in high levels of environmental pollution, sedentary lifestyles and increased vulnerability to the effects of climate change. The Barcelona Superblock model is an innovative urban and transport planning strategy that aims to reclaim public space for people, reduce motorized transport, promote sustainable mobility and active lifestyles, provide urban greening and mitigate effects of climate change. Urban areas are increasingly experiencing extreme weather events, especially related to water (e. g. , droughts, heatwaves, floods), which are devastatingly impacting infrastructure and human lives. Compact cities, conceived to create more robust, effective, and sustainable environments, are under pressure to increase their resilience by co-producing adaptive strategies mainly focused on the urban public space. /
Starting from an idea by Antonio Cornejo Polar presented in The formation of the literary tradition of Peru (1989), about the possibility of tracing "a living sequence" in the literature of this country, Eva Valero reviews the work of important Peruvian authors published between the XIX and the first decades of the XXI to rescue valuable intertextualities. El espacio vivido. Hacia una etnografía radicalmente urbana
/
[...] With this essay I try to define a methodology for urban ethnography "in it's own terms" but not without first problematizing its object of study. Historically, the urban thing has either been understood as a consequence of industrial society and therefore prefigured in the economic structure, or as a consequence of urban planning and therefore prefigured in the Architect's project. [...]
