Durante este período el Empordá fué objeto de profundas transformaciones sociales y económicas que, sin lugar a dudas, tuvieron consecuencias sobre el entorno y también sobre la relación entre los grupos humanos y este entorno.

This paper evaluates the practices used in the exploitation of the forest during the first millennium BC on the Empordan plain and their relation to the economic strategies. During this period the Empordà underwenta profound social and economic transformation that would doubtless have had consequences for the en vironment and, at the same time, for the relationship between the human population and this environment.
