En este trabajo se estudian las estructuras de complementación del verbo τυγχάνω ('obtener por suerte', 'encontrarse por casualidad', 'suceder (algo a alguien)'). Frente a la larga lista de usos y subusos que suelen ofrecerse en los diccionarios, se muestra cómo todas las construcciones pueden reducirse a tres, una transitiva y dos intransitivas, entre las cuales se establecen relaciones regulares de alternancia sintáctica. In this paper, the syntactic structures associated to the Greek verb τυγχάνω are studied. In contrast with the long lists of different uses and distributions for this verb that are offered in common dictionaries and lexica, first, we try to prove that all its uses can be reduced to only three, one of transitive and two of intransitive character. The article contains analysis of various definitions of the meaning of the construction estar + gerundio in Spanish treated as the Progressive form, from the viewpoint of general aspectology. On the basis of detailed examination of the use of this construction in modern literary texts, the author proposes a new treatment of the categorical meaning of the Spanish Progressive.

Los preverbios latinos aportan dos tipos de significado a las bases verbales a las que se unen: un significado sémico, que es el significado fundamental y específico de cada preverbio y es de orden espacial, y un significado clasemático más abstracto, que no es específico de cada preverbio, sino recurrente en varios preverbios. Latin preverbs provide verbs to which they are attached with two different kinds of meaning: a «semic» meaning of spatial nature, which is the fundamental and specific meaning of each pre-verb, and a more abstract «classematic» meaning, which is not specific of each preverb, but recur-rent in several preverbs.
