In this article we will examine Dante Shinkyoku, ダンテ神曲 (The Divine Comedy of Dante, 1994), Go Nagai's manga adaptation of the Italian poem. Through the study of both the structural elements upon which the adaptation is sustained and manga's language inherent signifying and representational mechanisms, we will unveil the multiplicity of levels (historical, aesthetic, narrative, discursive, etc. [...]
