Los probióticos son aquellos microorganismos que proporcionan beneficios al huésped, y en el ámbito de la sanidad animal constituyen un objeto de estudio de creciente interés. En este estudio, investigadores del grupo de Microbiología Aplicada y Medioambiental de la UAB han confirmado el potencial probiótico de la bacteria Lactiplantibacillus plantarum en caracoles Helix aspersa, así como la trehalosa al 15% como la sustancia más eficaz como crioprotector para mejorar su supervivencia en el proceso de liofilización. Probiotics are those microorganisms that proportion benefits to the host, and applicated in the animals health constitute an interesting object of study. In this paper, a research group from UAB's Applicated and Environmental Microbiology confirmed the probiotic potential of Lactoplantibacillus plantarum in Helix aspersa snails, and also the 15% trehalose as the most effective cryoprotectant substance for the survival of the bacteria during the process of lyophilization.
