Julio Cortázar y Francisco Torres Oliver, traductores de "The Fall of the House of Usher" de E. A. Poe : un análisis comparativo
/
[...] Julio Cortázar's translation of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories is to date, after almost seven decades, the most widely republished in the Spanish-speaking world; however, it has attracted little research or analysis.
[...] La torre de los siete jorobados, novel by Emilio Carrere, was adapted to cinema in the film of the same name by Edgar Neville in 1944, which constituted a real innovation in the poor cinematographic panorama of Spanish autarchy, due to its risky conceptual approach to plot and aesthetics, and to its closeness to fantastic, expressionist, black and sketchy postulates.
[...] Within the sphere of Italian and European comics, too often disparaged and relegated to the margins of cultural discourse, Dino Battaglia is considered one of the great masters of what Pratt rightly called «drawn literature», one of the authors who most knew how to focus his artistic research and intellectual reflection on the absolute linguistic value of comics as well as on its otherness compared to the purely verbal language, reflection constantly addressed in his outstanding work. [...] Until the recently years, the Fantastic genre had been an undervalued genre in Mexico when its existence had not be questioned. The apparition of anthologies dedicated to it, the rescue in recent years of writers of unquestionable value for this gender, as well as the rich and varied literary works that are far from the mimetic poetics have played an important role in the change of perspective. [...] The aim of this PhD thesis is to put the Spanish cinema situation in 1939. That year a new political and institutional era, which lasted until 1975, started as a result of a bloody civil war. This work aims to deepen the characteristics of Spanish film industry at that time, which of those characteristics remained after 1939 and which would change Spanish cinema forever. [...]

[...] While in exile, Xavier Benguerel translated English and French poetry into Catalan (especially Poe's The Crow and Valéry's Le Cimetière Marin). His original translations kept the formal features of the original texts -rhyme, rhythm, internal rhymes- but they were revised several times to improve their naturalness and fluency. [...]
