20 p, 2.9 MB The presence of an orbitoanteorbital fenestra: Further evidence of the anurognathid peculiarity within the Pterosauria / Dalla Vecchia, Fabio (Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont)
The anurognathids are peculiar pterosaurs characterized by broad skulls with very short rostra and broadly arched jaws. The presence of distinct or confluent external naris and antorbital fenestra in these pterosaurs has been debated in the last years. [...]

Olduvai Gorge (northern Tanzania) is one of the best known and most iconic palaeontological and archaeological sites in the world. In more than a century of research it has yielded an impressive record of fossils and stone tools which stands as a compendium of human evolution in the context of environmental changes of East Africa in the last 2 Ma. 14 p, 1.8 MB The occurrence of Eocenochelus (Testudines, Pleurodira) from Sardinia supports Palaeogeographic reconstruction of the proximity of the Island to Continental Western Europe during the Eocene / Georgalis, Georgios (University of Zurich. Palaeontological Institute and Museum (Switzerland)) ; Zoboli, Daniel (Università di Cagliari. Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche e Geologiche (Italy)) ; Pérez-García, Adán (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (Espanya). Grupo de Biología Evolutiva) ; Pillola, Gian Luigi (Università di Cagliari. Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche e Geologiche (Italy)) ; Delfino, Massimo (Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont)
In this paper, we describe pleurodire turtle material from the island of Sardinia, Italy, originating from two Eocene localities of the Cixerri Formation. The more complete among the two specimens bears strong resemblance with the continental Western European Eocenochelus eremberti and is tentatively referred to the same species, while the second, less complete specimen is only provisionally referred to the genus Eocenochelus. 46 p, 4.6 MB The unusual tail of Tethyshadros Insularis (Dinosauria, Hadrosauroidea) from the Adriatic Island of the European Archipelago / Dalla Vecchia, Fabio (Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont)
The basal hadrosauroid Tethyshadros insularis from the uppermost Cretaceous of NE Italy lived on an island of the European archipelago in the Tethys Ocean. The tail of this dinosaur presents several apomorphic traits respect to the tails of other coeval hadrosauroids of the archipelago and of hadrosauroids in general. [...]

Six stages (OS1-6) were identified by Kellner (2015) to establish the ontogeny of a given pterosaur fossil. These were used to support the erection of several new Triassic taxa including Bergamodactylus wildi, which is based on a single specimen (MPUM 6009) from the Norian of Lombardy, Italy. [...]
