The research was designed to determine the effect that has public investment in productive infrastructure on Chilean economic growth. To this end the thesis proposed two mayor goals. The first of these involved the formalization of a historical series for Chilean productive public investment (railways, roads, ports, airports, irrigation, drainage and sewerage, underground and grants), as well as the construction of a long series for the public capital stock for the period 1853-2010, to allow a better understanding of its evolution and the factors that determined it.
