The interest in how group identities are constructed dates from the origins of the social sciences; local, national, ethnic, class and gender identity, are central themes of some of these studies. From the perspective of youth studies, the notions of youth culture, subculture, social movement, collective, youth identities, identity ascriptions, among others, show us the ways in which groups of young people can be characterized; and that have to do mainly with the intentions and/or objectives marked or not, explicit or not, of each group.
