8 p, 205.7 KB Requiem for a Great King: The Death of Darius III / Antela Bernárdez, Borja (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Ciències de l'Antiguitat i de l'Edat Mitjana)
Ancient sources do not reveal a clear picture of what happened in Darius III's last days, his killing by Persain traitors, and how Alexander seized his corpse. The usual interpretation of these facts by scholarship tends to follow the account of the sources with not much criticism on the facts. [...]

The Macedonian campaign in Asia led by Alexander the Great provided an enormous amount of profit.
This paper aims to show that Alexander displayed more confidence in oracles or signs geographically external to Macedonia and Greek peninsula and related to the Asian territory. He mainly worshipped Athena and Zeus, after the stops at Ilium and Siwah, and disdained Apollon, before and after the diabasis to Asia.

24 p, 329.7 KB Religion and Alexander the Great / Anson, Edward M. (University of Arkansas at Little Rock)
Alexander the Great was religiously both a man of his time and the catalyst for change in the pattern of Greek religious life. He accepted the ubiquity of divine presence in the world and participated actively in the practice of Greek paganism, but he was also imbued with his own importance which evolved over time into a belief in his own divinity. 7 p, 208.9 KB Alexander and the Ocean / Gómez Espelosín, Francisco Javier
The aim of Alexander to come to the edges of the world and find the Ocean was a main feature with a key impact in Ancient Greek Geography. The travel to find the edges of the world is clearly linked with cultural perceptions of space that defined the geographical perspective of the campaign and its whole description.

The present work reveals two documents that we believe unpublished about a seventeenth-century Catalan character: the dean of Tortosa and real preacher, Alejandro Ros. Through his racial purity inquiry initiated to be accepted in the Royal Chapel and a memorial presented to the Council of Aragon, we intend, on the one hand, to show the importance of the networks of the Catalans exiles in the court during the revolt of mid seventeenth century and, on the other, the influence of this figure in the decisions made by Philip IV at the beginning of 1653 with respect to the measures to be taken in the newly reconquered Catalonia, and, especially, Barcelona.
