This is the first palaeoecological and taphonomical study of the Recent marine ostracods from the Azores. The aims of this work were to address the following questions: i) to establish the typical ostracod assemblages from the shallow waters of the Azores; ii) to determine the bathymetric ranges for each ostracod species; iii) to investigate the time span and depth in which significant transport occurs; iv) to quantify the amount of out of habitat transport between sandy beaches, tide pools and the sublittoral; v) to determine distinctive taphonomic features that can be used to recognize the amount of temporal resolution in ostracod assemblages. 28 p, 299.4 KB The Interplay between VSO and Coordination in Two Types of Non-Degree Exclamatives / Martins, Ana Maria (Universidade de Lisboa (FLUL/CLUL))

Both types of structures involve coordination as a means to overtly express comparison/contrast, show a VSO pattern, and can be characterized as non-degree exclamatives. [...]

26 p, 192.5 KB Scrambling and information focus in old and contemporary portuguese / Martins, Ana Maria (University of Lisbon (FLUL/CLUL))
This paper proposes that object scrambling both in Old and Contemporary Portuguese is a strategy to create appropriate information focus configurations. Essentially, it makes the rightmost constituent that would otherwise bear the neutral sentence nuclear stress escape it. [...]
