We study the dynamics of Topologically Anosov homeomorphisms of non compact surfaces. In the case of surfaces of genus zero and finite type, we classify them. We prove that if f : S → S, is a Topologically Anosov homeomorphism where S is a non-compact surface of genus zero and finite type, then S = R2 and f is conjugate to a homothety or reverse homothety (depending on wether f preserves or reverses orientation). In this paper we characterize the phase portraits in the Poincaré disc of the class of polynomial differential systems of the form ẋ = −y, ẏ = x + ax4 + bx2 y2 + cy4, with a2 + b2 + c2 ≠ 0, which are symmetric with respect to the x-axis. [...]

14 p, 336.3 KB On the centers of cubic polynomial differential systems with four invariant straight lines / Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
Assume that a cubic polynomial differential system in the plane has four invariant straight lines in generic position, i. e. they are not parallel and no more than two straight lines intersect in a point. [...]

Instituto de Matemática y Estadística "Rafael Laguardia" (Uruguay)) ; Xavier, Juliana (Universidad de la República. Instituto de Matemática y Estadística "Rafael Laguardia" (Uruguay))
This paper deals with classifying the dynamics of topologically Anosov plane homeomorphisms. We prove that a topologically Anosov homeomorphism f: ℝ2 → ℝ2 is conjugate to a homothety if it is the time one map of a flow. [...]

Kerékjártó proved in 1934 that a planar homeomorphism with an asymptotically stable fixed point is conjugated, on its basin of attraction, to one of the maps z (Formula Present. ) depending on whether f preserves or reverses the orientation. [...]

Department of Mathematics) ; Giné, Jaume (Universitat de Lleida. Departament de Matemàtica) ; Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
We are concerned here with the classical problem of Poincaré of persistence of periodic solutions under small perturbations. The main contribution of this work is to give the expression of the second order bifurcation function in more general hypotheses than the ones already existing in the literature. [...]
