The general aim of this study is to examine how the problem of dealing with cultural elements is resolved in the translation of texts, specifically in the case of Hispanic and Arab cultures. To this end, the following four specific objectives were established: - To present a state of the art review of translation studies approaches focusing on cultural transfer, as well as the various theoretical proposals concerning the relationship between language and culture, in order to establish a theoretical framework for the research; - To develop a model for the analysis of cultural elements in translation; - To describe the phenomenon of cultural transfer in translation; - To describe and examine those cultural focal points which give rise to the most significant culture-based problems in translation between Arabic and Spanish; In relation to these four objectives, our research has obtained the following results: I.
