Executive functions (EFs) in both regulatory and meta-cognitive contexts are important for a wide variety of children's daily activities, including play and learning. Despite the growing literature supporting the relationship between EF and language, few studies have focused on these links during everyday behaviours. [...]

[...] In this paper I propose the use of the ethics of care as a theoretical and political framework for rethinking 'robotics' and 'artificial intelligence' (AI) in healthcare. Using the theoretical perspective of Science and Technology Studies, I develop an approach based on the idea of a continuum between care, politics, ethics and technologies. [...]

Synurbic species adapt to global urbanization by increasingly inhabiting urban environments, where social and ecological factors, such as anthropogenic food resources and habitat alterations, promote close human-wildlife interactions. [...]

High-resolution crystal structures of lysozyme in the presence of the potential drug VIVO(acetylacetonato)2 under two different experimental conditions have been solved. The crystallographic study reveals the loss of the ligands, the oxidation of VIV to VV and the subsequent formation of adducts of the protein with two different polyoxidovanadates: [V4O12]4−, which interacts with lysozyme non-covalently, and the unprecedented [V20O54(NO3)]n−, which is covalenty bound to the side chain of an aspartate residue of symmetry related molecules.

[...] The Spanish Supreme Court issued a ruling in 2018 establishing the doctrine of the unnecessaryness of administrative review when the claim could not be materially addressed by the Administration. The judicial construction determines that when the appeal is not useful, despite being procedurally mandatory, the lack of lodging the administrative claim cannot prevent continuing with other legal actions. Editorial : Porcine respiratory disease complex: dynamics of polymicrobial infections, synergistic effects and management strategies

Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) is a major cause of production losses in the global swine industry. The disease is often multifactorial and polymicrobial, resulting from infection with different combinations of pathogens (including viruses, bacteria, and parasites), in addition to non-infectious factors such as environmental conditions, animal age, population size, management strategies and genetics.

Translanguaging practices and metalinguistic reflection during negotiation of meaning in tandem virtual exchanges
/
Canals, Laia (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya)
Earlier studies exploring translanguaging in virtual exchanges (Walker, 2018; Zheng et al. , 2017) have mainly focused on identifying translanguaging in written chats to analyze discursive aspects and feedback processes.
