El present article mostra un estat de la qüestió sobre la discussió entorn de la llengua dels heftalites. Aquesta qüestió continua oberta avui dia i és objecte de múltiples interpretacions. En aquest cas, exposem els testimonis existents sobre el seu sistema d'escriptura i les diverses teories sobre l'origen de la seva llengua, que varien d'un origen altaic a un d'iranià, sense arribar a un consens.
This paper shows a state of the research about the discussion on the language of the Hephthalites. The aforesaid question is still open nowadays and it is subject to multiple interpretations. Here we present the available evidence on their writing system and the various theories about the origin of their language, which vary from an Altaic to an Iranian origin, without reaching a consensus.
