1.0 MB How Does Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy Work? A Systematic Review on Suggested Mechanisms of Action / Landin-Romero, Ramon (ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders, Sydney) ; Moreno Alcázar, Ana (Hospital del Mar (Barcelona, Catalunya)) ; Pagani, Marco (Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, CNR, Rome) ; Amann, Benedikt L. (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Psiquiatria i de Medicina Legal)
Background: Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing [EMDR] is an innovative, evidence-based and effective psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD]. As with other psychotherapies, the effectiveness of EMDR contrasts with a limited knowledge of its underlying mechanism of action. [...]

The alkenone unsaturation index, U37K', has now proven its worth as a tool for paleothermometry. U37K' measured in most modern sediments throughout the World Ocean can be translated using established calibrations into realistic, seemingly reliable estimates of mean annual temperature at the sea surface (SST). Two commonly used proxies based on the distribution of glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers (GDGTs) are the TEX86 (TetraEther indeX of 86 carbon atoms) paleothermometer for sea surface temperature reconstructions and the BIT (Branched Isoprenoid Tetraether) index for reconstructing soil organic matter input to the ocean.
22 p, 1.7 MB The coupled occurrence of Cimmeriella-Jakutoproductus (Brachiopoda: Productidina) in Patagonia : implications for Early Permian high to middle paleolatitudinal correlations and paleoclimatic reconstruction / Taboada, Arturo César (Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia "San Juan Bosco". Facultad de Ciencias Naturales) ; Pagani, María Alejandra (Museo Paleontológico "Egidio Feruglio") ; Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (Argentina). Laboratorio de Investigaciones en Evolución y Biodiversidad
The brachiopod species Jakutoproductus sabattiniae sp. nov. and Cimmeriella willi sp. nov. from the Cisuralian deposits of the Tepuel-Genoa basin are described here. Biostratigraphy and stratigraphy of the uppermost section of the Tepuel Group (Mojón de Hierro and Río Genoa formations) are analyzed and a distinctive faunal succession is recognized: the Cimmeriella and Jakutoproductus faunal assemblages of late Sakmarian (Sterlitamakian) and early Artinskian estimated ages, respectively.
