We investigate the use and performance of the quasi-static memdiode model (QMM) when incorporated into large cross-point arrays intended for pattern classification tasks. Following Chua's memristive devices theory, the QMM comprises two equations, one equation for the electron transport based on the double-diode circuit with single series resistance and a second equation for the internal memory state of the device based on the so-called logistic hysteron or memory map. Atherothrombosis, the main cause of acute coronary syndromes (ACS), is characterized by the rupture of the atherosclerotic plaque followed by the formation of thrombi. Fatal plaque rupture sites show large necrotic cores combined with high levels of inflammation and thin layers of collagen. [...]

Electronic tongues (ETs) are bioinspired analytical tools based on the synergies between (bio)sensors and chemometrics. Through the application of chemometrics, it is possible to infer underlying relationships between the measured analytical signals and the chemical properties of the samples, both for descriptive and predictive purposes, otherwise impossible to decipher. [...]

Compressive sensing of 2D signals involves three fundamental steps: sparse representation, linear measurement matrix, and recovery of the signal. This paper focuses on analyzing the efficiency of various measurement matrices for compressive sensing of medical images based on theoretical predictive coding. [...]

Bilateral basal ganglia abnormalities on MRI are observed in a wide variety of childhood disorders. MRI pattern recognition can enable rationalization of investigations and also complement clinical and molecular findings, particularly confirming genomic findings and also enabling new gene discovery.
