¿Peligro amarillo? : El imaginario de China en Occidente entre la geopolítica y la globalización

Resumen:	El artículo analiza la genealogía, construcción y evolución del imginario sobre Asia Oriental, y en concreto sobre China, que queda reflejado en el tropo "peligro amarillo". El racismo implícito al término no oculta su directa y estrecha relación con la geopolítica y la globalización. El imaginario se refiere tanto al área regional de Asia Oriental como a su población establecida fuera de la zona y se vincula a temores y supuestas amenazas que en ocasiones se han utilizado para justificar políticas de exclusión y acciones violentas. El "peligro amarillo" continúa vigente en la actualidad.
Resumen:	The article analyzes the genealogy, construction and evolution of the image on East Asia, and in particular on China, which is reflected in the "yellow peril" trope. The racism implicit in the term does not hide its direct and close relationship with geopolitics and globalization. The imaginary refers both to the regional area of East Asia and to its population established outside the area and is linked to fears and supposed threats that have sometimes been used to justify exclusionary policies and violent actions. The "yellow peril" is still in force.
