Developing a strategic plan : a case study from the National University of Lesotho

Resumen:	Recent calls for the development of strategic plans in African universities have been accompanied by the need to exchange experiences of what approaches can be adopted. This article analyses the steps taken by the National University of Lesotho to develop a strategic plan. Reference is made to both internal and external factors which influenced or limited the success of that process. On the basis of that experience conclusions are drawn which may be of benefit to other institutions embarking on a similar process.
