Abstract:	L'article gira a l'entorn de la frase "Am Anfang war der Sprung" ("Al principi fou l'esquerda"), que Grass formulà en un petit tractat de l'any 1962, "Ohrenbeichte. Brief an ein ungeschriebenes Blatt", en el qual l'autor alemany descriu la manera com concep la tasca del novel·lista en retratar el món. Un cop exposades les interpretacions que diversos autors han donat a aquest text, es revisa la seva significació per a les obres que constitueixen l'anomenada "Trilogia de Danzig", especialment per als seus „herois" protagonistes, sense perdre mai de vista el caràcter sovint autobiogràfic que aquestes obres tenen. Es dedica una especial atenció a la darrera obra de la trilogia, Anys de gos, tal vegada la menys coneguda de totes tres.
Abstract:	This article focuses on the sentence "Am Anfang war der Sprung" ("At the beginning there was the crack") that Grass formulated in a 1962 small essay, "Ohrenbeichte. Brief an ein ungeschriebenes Blatt", which alludes to what the author conceives as his role in depicting the world. After the analysis of the different ways through which this sentence has been interpreted by scholars, the article focuses on the significance it has for each of the novels that constitute the so called "Trilogy of Danzig", especially for their "heroes" and protagonists, without losing sight of the autobiographical dimension in these works. Special attention is paid to the last novel of the Trilogy, Hundejahre (Dog years), which is maybe the least known of the three.
