Resum: The chapter will proceed through providing a critical engagement with Lefebvre's theorization of autogestion and the Right to the City, suggesting that it offers an entry point for conceptualizing a politics of self-government that is both in, against and beyond the state. The chapter outlines our proposed new model of ownership and governance which seeks to embody such a directional strategy, the Public-Common Partnership (PCP). We argue that PCPs offer a strategic approach that sets in motion processes that work to shift the boundaries of social and political possibility, developing a politics of the common that takes the question of the state seriously.
