Faculdade de Engenharia) ; Tavares, João Manuel R. S. (Universidade do Porto. Faculdade de Engenharia) ; Vaz, Mário A. P. (Universidade do Porto. Faculdade de Engenharia)
Three-dimensional (3D) human body reconstruction and modeling from two-dimensional (2D) images is a topic of great interest and research but still remains a difficult problem to solve. Volumetric based methods are commonly used to solve this type of problem. [...]

The use of fiber reinforced plastics has increased in the last decades due to their unique properties. Advantages of their use are related with low weight, high strength and stiffness. Drilling of composite plates can be carried out in conventional machinery with some adaptations. [...]

20 p, 2.1 MB Improvement of Modal Matching Image Objects in Dynamic Pedobarography using Optimization Techniques / Tavares, João Manuel R. S. (Universidade do Porto. Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica e Gestão Industrial) ; Ferreira Bastos, Luísa (Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica e Gestão Industria (Porto, Portugal). Laboratório de Óptica e Mecânica Experimental)
This paper presents an approach for matching objects in dynamic pedobarography image sequences, based on finite element modeling and modal analysis. The determination of correspondences between nodal objects is improved using optimization techniques and, because the number of elements of each object is not necessary the same, a new algorithm to match excess nodes is proposed.
