In 2007 the UAB inaugurated the UAB’s science and technology park (PRAUB), created with the aim of being a basic tool for different Spanish organizations leaders in research, and also location of research institutes, business incubators and R&D departments, and science and technology services. Recently the UAB has been recognized as one of the TOP 35 Institutions Outside North America in postdoc training (The Scientist’s Best Places to Work Survey, March, 2006). The UAB in the rankings

The UAB was the promoter of the installation of a new generation of the synchrotron ALBA in southern Europe. It is built next to the Campus of the UAB with an investment of over $110 million USD. The synchrotron has room for up 160 research teams and has attracted a collection of experimental laboratories as well as business installations.
