DEMO PhD Annual Assessment 2020-21

Every academic year, PhD students’ performance must be reviewed by the DEMO academic committee.

Calendar

The DEMO annual assessment will consist in a public presentation of a new piece of research in one of the two Workshops organized by the DEMO PhD program:

• JUNE 2021 – Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
• SEPTEMBER 2021 - Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB). Only if it was not possible to do the assessment in June. In any case, the student must justify the absence in June and have the DEMO coordinator’s approval.

The program will inform the students about the exact date and schedule in advanced.

Student presentations will have a workshop format. In general, PhD students’ presentations will also receive comments from discussants.

Documents to be submitted:

• New paper: to be presented at the Workshop (about 40-minute presentation)
  Deadlines (to be confirmed):
  • Title and abstract: March 31st, 2021
  • Paper: To be announced (approximately three weeks before the date of the presentation in the Workshop)
• Advisor’s report
  Deadline: before the workshop

  Please, note that all student-submitted documents need to have the corresponding advisor’s approval at the time of submission.

Annual assessment by the committee members:

This committee will be formed by three faculty members of the DEMO program, depending of the research topics and availability. Whenever possible, there will be members from the three universities (UAB, UIB and UPNA).
