Abstract:	El fandango es la fiesta comunitaria del son jarocho, uno de los géneros musicales originarios de México. Este tipo de música presenta influencias indígenas, afro-caribeñas e hispánicas en su genealogía, estructura y ejecución. Esto le confiere una identidad híbrida e intercultural que en años recientes se ha proyectado de manera global. El uso específico del espacio, los códigos de relación entre los participantes de la comunidad y las dinámicas de improvisación colectiva son algunos de los rasgos que definen la especificidad escénica del fandango jarocho y la hacen diferente a otros ritos, acontecimientos o bailes tradicionales en el mundo. El objetivo central de este artículo es analizar el fandango como un acontecimiento performativo, actualmente ejecutado por diferentes comunidades que comparten un ethos específico.
Abstract:	The fandango is the communal celebration of the son jarocho, one of the native musical genres of Veracruz, Mexico. This type of music presents Indigenous, Afro-Caribbean and Hispanic influences in its genealogy, structure and execution. This provides it with a hybrid and intercultural identity that has been projected globally in recent years. The specific use of space, the codes of relationship between participants and the dynamics of collective improvisation are some of the features that define the performance of the fandango jarocho and make it different from other traditional rites, events or dances in the world. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the fandango as a performative event, currently executed by different communities that share a specific ethos.
