| Abstract: |
Since the introduction of the logic of fashion in the XIV century until the present day, the Western society has regulated the relation between body, clothing and social environment according to political and economical interests in each historical period. During the industrial and post-industrial periods, where the interest was centred in production and consumption, it was necessary to emphasize the importance of fashionable clothing at the expense of the confort and well-being of the body. At present a transition is happening from a post-industrial society to a cibernetic culture based on digital technology. The presence of new materials and textile processes has started to modify the relationship between body, clothing and social environment. |
