Abstract:	En el capítulo se realiza una aproximación a la imagen y el imaginario de san Jerónimo. Lejos de una concepción de carácter logocéntrico, se prefiere un enfoque cultural, que englobe la trama de significados concretados en una cultura visual, y acote los ámbitos y contextos en los que fluyen determinadas iconografías. Jerónimo articula una gran variedad de tipos iconográficos: el padre de la iglesia, el autor de la exégesis sobre las escrituras, el traductor, pero también el anacoreta. Su figuración no compete a un único tipo, sino que articula varios modelos icónicos: no deja de metamorfosearse revelando nuevos aspectos para complacer a un público en continua extensión, y así refleja el desarrollo de una dinámica social de la devoción.
Abstract:	In the chapter, an approach to the image and the imaginary of Saint Jerome is presented. Far from a logocentric conception, we prefer a cultural approach, which encompasses the web of meanings concreted in a visual culture, and delimitates the areas and contexts in which certain iconographies flow. Jerome articulates a great variety of iconographic types: the father of the church, the author of exegesis on the scriptures, the translator, but also the anchorite. His figuration does not belong to a single type, but rather articulates several iconic models: he continues to metamorphose himself revealing new aspects to please an ever-expanding audience, and thereby reflects the development of a social dynamic of devotion.
