Las antiguas casas consistoriales de Santiago de Compostela sitas en la plaza de Cervantes constituyen la más antigua sede de ayuntamiento que se conserva en Galicia. Construida entre 1689 y 1690, su traza se debe al maestro de obras de la catedral Domingo de Andrade, el mejor arquitecto del barroco gallego del último tercio del siglo xvii y protagonista de la transformación barroca de la ciudad. A su estudio se dedican las siguientes páginas, ilustrándose con reconstrucciones infomáticas del aspecto original de sus dos fachadas y de la distribución primitiva de su planta. |
| Abstract: |
The old Town Hall of Santiago de Compostela in Cervantes Square is the oldest municipal seat kept in Galicia. It was built between 1689 and 1690 and its plans were drawn by Domingo de Andrade, the Master Builder of the Cathedral and the best architect of Galician Baroque during the 17th century, who is the protagonist of the Baroque transformation of the city. We study it in the following pages which are illustrated by computer-generated pictures of original look of its two façades and first distribution of its plan. |
