Abstract: Feminist geography is now widely present in the agenda of international geography but more efforts have to be made to make possible the integration of the work being done outside the English-speaking academia into a general survey of research in gender geography. In this paper we analyze the evolution of gender geography through a bibliometrical analysis of the articles and book reviews on gender published in 71 journals and in 23 different countries. A thematic classification of the articles is made, taking into account the different languages and regions of the publications as well as the sex of the authors. It is clear that the regional context matters in the establishment of the agenda of gender studies and that different regional models emerge in spite of their common roots in Anglosaxon feminist geography.
