Abstract:	L'autore si sofferma sulla tragedia La Gioconda di Gabriele d'Annunzio e, dopo aver individuato i collegamenti con l'arte e la scultura, dimostra come il personaggio di Silvia Settala sia modellato sul carattere della fanciulla "dalle mani mozze" narrato nella tradizione folklorica italiana (Straparola, Basile) e mondiale. Inoltre le caratteristiche del personaggio fiabesco della Sirenetta, che nella tragedia è una sorta di alter ego di Silvia, si ritrovano nel Notturno dove è Renata la nuova Sirenetta che accudisce l'infermo genitore.
Abstract:	The author focuses on Gabriele D'Annunzio's tragedy La Gioconda, highlighting the ties with art and sculpture and showing how the character of Silvia Settala is modelled on the character of the girl "with chopped off hands" narrated by the Italian (Straparola, Basile) and international folk tradition. The features of the fairy-tale character of Sirenetta, who in the tragedy is a sort of alter ego for Silvia, reappear in Notturno where Renata is the new Sirenetta who takes care of her infirm parent.
