Resumen:	The purpose of this article is to review the data for the constitution of the civic body in the North Pontic Greek cities. The discussion is based on the large volume of research on the epigraphic material conducted in recent years. In particular proxenia decrees and private letters writte in the context of Greek archaic trade have come under scrutiny. While the investigation has provided several new in- sights relating to φυλαί, προξενία, πολιτεία and οἶκος in the Northern Black Sea area, the presentation will concentrate on some local peculiarities related to tribes (phylai).
