This work introduces an interactive algorithm for image smoothing and segmentation. A non-linear partial differential equation is employed to smooth the image while preserving contours. Aquest article examina el paper que ha jugat la fotografia en la cultura política mexicana, tant com a instrument legitimador del govern que com a mitjà contestatari de l'oposició. Analitza les imatges dels fotoperiodistes en diaris i revistes il·lustrades, des de 1900 fins als anys 90, troba en les representacions del poder polític reflexions sobre el context històric en què van ser fetes.
This article examines the role photography has played in the political culture of Mexico as both a legitimating instrument of the government and a contestatory medium of the opposition. It surveys the imagery of photojournalists in newspapers and illustrated magazines from 1900 to the 1990s, finding in their representations of political power reflections of the historical contexts in which they were produced.
