Cerro Quema (Azuero Peninsula, Panama) is a high-sulfidation epithermal Au-Cu deposit hosted by a dacite dome complex of the Río Quema Formation (late Campanian to Maastrichtian). High-sulfidation mineralization at Cerro Quema occurs within a lithocap of vuggy quartz and advanced argillic alteration, and comprises a first stage of disseminations and microveinlets of pyrite, chalcopyrite, enargite, tennantite, and minor sphalerite. We present the results of the archaeological excavation carried out at the Solana del Bepo mine that have allowed us to contextualise the surface finds made in the 1940s. It had been possible to locate the prehistoric workings and to characterise the mined ores by pXRF elemental, mu-XRF and LIA analyses. [...]

We report the synthesis and characterization of a group of benzoylhydrazones (Ln) derived from 2-carbaldehyde-8-hydroxyquinoline and benzylhydrazides containing distinct para substituents (R = H, Cl, F, CH3, OCH3, OH and NH2, for L1-7, respectively; in L8 isonicotinohydrazide was used instead of benzylhydrazide). In the context of carbon-nitrogen bond formation, metal-catalyzed nitrene transfer reactions constitute a powerful transformation. While many saturated and unsaturated substrates can be modified with this strategy, the incorporation of nitrene into enynes yet remains undescribed. [...]

The Miocene Daralu Porphyry Copper Deposits (PCDs) is found associated with other porphyries such as Sarcheshmeh and Meiduk in the Kerman Cenozoic Magmatic Arc (KCMA), southern Iran. In this research, we provided whole-rock geochemical data, characteristics of hydrothermal fluid and sulfur isotope composition of the Daralu intrusive body, and discussed the nature, tectonic setting and fluid evolution of this deposit aiming to investigate its fertility.
