A comprehensive study at Sierra de Cartagena-La Unión (SE Spain) abandoned mine site was carried out to characterise the regime and water quality of the groundwater system after the mine closure. The system consists of five geologic fractured blocks belonging to the Alpujarride and Nevado-Filabride complexes. [...]

The present paper analyses the stratigraphic distribution of ammonites collected in the Lower Aptian sediments of the Maestrat Basin (E Spain). The faunal successions obtained from the systematic sampling of ten selected sections located in several sub basins led us to identify four biostratigraphic units (from base to top: Deshayesites oglanlensis, Deshayesites forbesi, Deshayesites deshayesi and Dufrenoyia furcata Zones) that are directly correlatable with the current Mediterranean standard zonation. 23 p, 18.0 MB Earliest Pragian (Early Devonian) corals and stromatoporoids from reefal settings in the Cantabrian Zone (N Spain) / Fernández-Martínez, E. (University of Léon. (University of Oviedo. Department of Geology) ; Mistiaen, B. (Université Catholique de Lille. Laboratoire de Paléontologie stratigraphique)
The oldest reefal episode in the Cantabrian Zone (earliest Pragian) consists of small biostromal patch reefs, mainly built by corals and stromatoporoids, and developed on a storm-dominated ramp. Four outcrops provide the stratigraphic framework in which these reef facies developed, and these permitted an interpretation of their depositional setting in terms of a relatively distal or protected shelf. (PETROBRAS/RH/UP/ECTEP/PETROBRAS/RH/UP/ECTEP) ; Comas-Rengifo, M. J. (Departamento-UEI de Paleontología, UCM-CSIC) ; Silva, F. (Galp Energia)
The upper Sinemurian to Pliensbachian series of the Lusitanian Basin (Portugal) correspond to marly limestone sediments rich in benthic and nektonic macrofauna. This sedimentary record includes several intervals of organicrich facies, which are particularly well developed in the western sectors of the basin. [...]
