The present work reveals two documents that we believe unpublished about a seventeenth-century Catalan character: the dean of Tortosa and real preacher, Alejandro Ros. Through his racial purity inquiry initiated to be accepted in the Royal Chapel and a memorial presented to the Council of Aragon, we intend, on the one hand, to show the importance of the networks of the Catalans exiles in the court during the revolt of mid seventeenth century and, on the other, the influence of this figure in the decisions made by Philip IV at the beginning of 1653 with respect to the measures to be taken in the newly reconquered Catalonia, and, especially, Barcelona.
