En los últimos años, el "giro afectivo" (the affective turn) ha ganado terreno en la reflexión de las ciencias sociales, ligado a cambios significativos de las sociedades contemporáneas, que se manifiestan tanto en la vida cotidiana, los comportamientos y los hábitos como en relación con la política. Una "sociedad afectiva" donde los medios tienen primacía: talk shows, realities, auge de lo auto/biográfico, lo íntimo y lo subjetivo, afán confesional en las redes sociales, voyeurismo y emociones vicarias en la TV, justicia restaurativa, "branding", inteligencia emocional, carisma y liderazgo como valores priotarios. Una esfera pública que ha permeado con gran éxito la política, al punto tal que, con una nota de humor, alguien decía que la "emocionología" parece haber tomado el lugar de la ideología. Abordaré críticamente ciertas tendencias del "affective turn", en tensión con otras posiciones que tratan de responder, en términos éticos y políticos, a la conflictiva situación del mundo contemporáneo. |

In the last years, the "affective turn" has aroused great interest in the reflection of the social sciences, according to certain significant changes in everyday life, habits and behaviors in contemporary societies, as well as in relation to politics. An "affective society" where the media and the social media have a leading role: talk shows, realities, rise of the biographical and subjective, public intimacy, vicarious emotions on TV, restorative justice, voyeurism, "branding", emotional intelligence, charisma and leadership as priority values. A public emotional sphere, where politics is in the foreground, to the point that someone, with a hint of humor, said that "emotionology seems to have taken the place of ideology. This essay aims to make a critical approach to certain tendencies of the "affective turn", contrasting other positions that try to respond, in ethical and political terms, to the conflictive situation of our contemporary world. |
