Empirical studies try to answer the following research questions: 1) Is the learning orientation a precedent for the development of entrepreneurship orientation in family businesses and non-family business? Does learning orientation is a precedent for the development of market orientation in family businesses and non-family business? Is there a difference in the influence of the strategic orientations on organizational results of a family business and non-family business? 2) What are the factors constitute up the socioemotional wealth? What is the impact of socioemotional wealth in organizational results of family businesses? 3) Does the socioemotional wealth has a mediating effect on the relationship between market orientation and organizational results of a family business? Does the socioemotional wealth has a mediating effect on the relationship between learning orientation and organizational results of a family business? Does the socioemotional wealth has a mediating effect on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational results of a family business? Different theoretical perspectives (Theory of Resources and Capabilities and Behavioral Theory Agency) were the basis for the development of the proposed hypothesis. [...]
